After-hours intake for commercial locksmiths
The 2 a.m. problem

The store couldn't lock up at 11:20.
The manager called three locksmiths.

She hired the one that picked up. RafterBell picks up — every night, every weekend, every time your techs are already out. It answers in your company's name, takes her name, the address and what's happening, and has her message playing on your on-call phone within a minute.

Working on your line the same night. Month to month. Cancel any time from the same link.

Example missed call — 02:17
RafterBell answers
Thanks for calling Keystone Lock & Safe. Everyone is on a job right now. After the tone, please leave your name, the address, and what is happening, then hang up.
Caller — message
It's Angela at Rimes Pharmacy, 1120 Harper Road. Our front deadbolt is jammed half-turned and I can't secure the store. I'll stay here. Please call me back at this number.
RafterBell
Thanks. Someone will call you back shortly.
Your on-call phone rings — 02:19
“RafterBell. New after-hours lead for Keystone Lock & Safe.”
▶ plays the 20-second message
“Call them back at 555 014 2277. Again, 555 014 2277.”
Same recording and number in your email at 02:19
$300–900 What an after-hours commercial call is worth: lockouts, rekeys, door hardware, access control. Break-in rekeys and board-up referrals run higher.
Unsecured = urgent A storefront that can't lock doesn't wait for morning. The manager calls down the list until someone answers — and property managers remember who picked up.
60 sec From the caller hanging up to her message playing on your on-call phone, with the address and the callback number.
How it runs

Three things happen. You do none of them.

There is no app to check and no dashboard to babysit. If you never log in again after the first day, it keeps working.

01

It answers in your name

Every missed call is picked up on the first ring with your company name, not a dead voicemail box. It tells the caller everyone is on a job and asks for exactly three things: their name, the address, and what's happening. It never quotes a price and never promises a time.

02

It takes the message

A caller calls at 2 a.m. and you don't pick up — you're asleep, or already on a job. The call rolls to RafterBell, which answers immediately and records up to two minutes of message, so they leave the details instead of hanging up and dialing the next company.

03

It hands you the job

Within a minute of the caller hanging up, your on-call phone rings. RafterBell says it's a new after-hours lead for your company, plays the message, and reads the callback number twice. The same recording and number land in your email. You call back a caller who already heard help was coming, instead of finding a voicemail at 7 a.m. from someone who hired a competitor at 2.

The greeting

Exactly what the caller hears

This is the whole script. No mystery, no black box — the company name is yours, the rest is word for word what every caller hears, every time.

It answers
“Thanks for calling Keystone Lock & Safe. Everyone is on a job right now.”
It asks
“After the tone, please leave your name, the address, and what is happening, then hang up.”
The message
Up to two minutes, ended with the pound key or a hang-up. Recorded and kept.
It closes
“Thanks. Someone will call you back shortly.”
Your phone
Rings within a minute. RafterBell announces the lead, plays the message, and reads the callback number twice.
Your email
The recording and the caller's number, so nothing lives only on one phone.
Price

One number. No per-lead fee.

$247per month
  • No per-call fee — you're never punished for a busy weekend. Fair use is about 100 answered after-hours calls a month, more than most single-location shops see; run past it regularly and we'll set you up on a plan that fits before anything extra is billed
  • Every lead on your on-call phone within a minute — we ring you, play the message, and read the callback number. The recording is in your email too
  • Setup is dialing one code from your business phone. Nothing to install, no website changes
  • Every message kept — recording and number in your email the moment it happens
  • Month to month. No contract, no setup fee, no per-lead cut
Turn it on — $247/mo

Optional add-on — caller text-back, $50/mo. We text the caller within seconds so they know help is coming, and most of them reply with more detail. Phone carriers require us to register your business first, so we'll need your legal business name, EIN, address, website and a contact name — about two minutes of your time. Carrier approval takes 5–10 business days and you are not billed for it until it is approved and working. Your call answering runs from night one either way.

Straight answers

What you're actually wondering

What if the caller asks it a question?

It doesn't answer questions and it never guesses. It takes the message and gets you on the phone with them inside a minute. A wrong answer about your pricing or your availability costs you a customer; “someone will call you back shortly” doesn't.

I already pay an answering service.

Keep it. Run both for 30 days and compare what each one actually delivered to your phone. If theirs wins, cancel us. Most people find they're paying several hundred a month for a call center that takes a message and nothing else.

How much of my time does setup take?

You dial one forwarding code from your business phone — about two minutes. We email you the exact code for your carrier as soon as you sign up. Only calls you don't answer forward to us; the ones you pick up never leave your phone, and you can switch it off any time with another code. Nothing is installed, and your website is not touched.

What happens on a genuine emergency?

Every after-hours call is treated as urgent: your phone rings within a minute of the caller hanging up, with the message and the callback number. You hear the caller's own words and decide whether to roll a truck now or call back at 7. It's a dispatcher, not a gatekeeper.

Can I get out?

Month to month, cancel from the same link you signed up with, no phone call required. Turn the forwarding off with one code and your line is exactly as it was. Your leads are yours — they've been going to your phone the whole time.

The math

You already lost more than this to one missed call.

Every night you don't have it, somebody is listening to your phone ring at 2 a.m. deciding whether to keep waiting or dial the next company. That's the whole pitch.
