RafterBell — Privacy Policy
Plain-English summary: We handle phone numbers, recorded voice messages and (for customers who add text-back) text messages so our business customers don't lose missed calls. We collect only what the service needs, we don't sell
anyone's information, and we never share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for
their marketing. Text STOP to any RafterBell number to stop receiving texts from it.
1. Who this policy covers
Two groups of people interact with RafterBell:
- Customers — businesses that subscribe to our missed-call recovery service.
- Callers — people who call a Customer's business line and, when the call goes
unanswered, are connected to a RafterBell-managed phone number.
2. Information we collect
From Customers: business name, website, contact name, email address, billing
address, phone numbers (including the on-call phone that receives leads), service ZIP code, and
payment information (processed by Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers).
From Callers: the phone number that called, the time of the call, the recorded
message the caller leaves (typically a name, a service address, and a description of the problem),
and, where the Customer has enabled the caller text-back add-on, the contents of text messages
exchanged with our automated intake.
From website visitors: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages
viewed) provided by our hosting provider. We do not run advertising trackers.
3. How we use it
- To deliver the service: answer missed calls in the Customer's business name, take a recorded
message (or, where enabled, run an automated text conversation), and relay it to the Customer's
on-call phone by automated telephone call and by email.
- To bill Customers, provide support, and send service notices.
- To keep records of message delivery for troubleshooting and compliance.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Caller
information for advertising. We only ever text a Caller because that Caller first dialed a
Customer's business line — and every message thread honors opt-out.
4. Text messaging & consent
- Where a Customer has enabled the caller text-back add-on, callers receive texts from RafterBell numbers only after calling that Customer's forwarded business line — the text-back exists to help them reach the business they were trying to call.
- Reply STOP to any RafterBell number to opt out of further messages from it;
reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies
with the conversation.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or
promotional purposes. Opt-in data and consent are never sold or shared.
5. Who we share information with
Only the service providers that make RafterBell work, and only what they need:
- Telnyx — carries our calls, stores recorded messages, and (where enabled) sends text messages.
- Cloudflare — runs our automation and stores Customer and message records.
- Resend — sends lead and account emails on our behalf.
- Stripe — processes Customer payments.
- The Customer — Callers' job details are delivered to the business they called.
- Authorities, if legally required (subpoena, court order), or to protect against fraud or abuse.
That's the whole list. No data brokers, no advertisers.
6. Retention
We keep Customer account records while the subscription is active and for a reasonable period
afterward for tax and legal purposes. Caller recordings and message logs are retained only as long as needed to
provide the service and for compliance, then deleted in the ordinary course.
7. Security
Data lives with reputable providers (Telnyx, Cloudflare, Resend, Stripe, our hosting provider) that maintain
industry-standard security. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot
guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
- Callers: text STOP to stop messages from a RafterBell number.
- Customers: email us to access, correct, or delete your account information, or to cancel.
- Anyone: email RBunch@rafterbell.com with any privacy
question or request, and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
9. Children
The service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly
collect information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. Material
changes affecting Customers will also be announced by email.
